Almost three months after the third season of the series based on the manga created by Eiichirō Oda was confirmed, One Piece, Netflix announced that the American actor Xolo Maridueña joined the cast to give life to Porgas D. Ace.

Through the official account of the manga and its television adaptation created by the streaming platform, they reported on the revelation of the new cast member for this production that will launch later this year in South Africa. Likewise, in a short video, you can hear Iñaky Godoy welcome Xolo Maridueña.
“Everything is fine, my friend. We are ready to receive you. See you on the set,” says the Mexican actor who gives life to Monkey D. Luffy in this live-action version of One Piece released in 2023, to which the also protagonist of Blue Beetle (2023) responds: “Let’s get to work, Kiki!“.

Likewise, the official Eiichirō Oda team that manages the X account of One Piece revealed that the premiere date of season 2 is agreed for March 10, 2026 via Netflix.
What will season 2 be about? One Piece?
In an official statement, the streaming platform and production company pointed out, regarding the second season of One Piece:
“Luffy and the Straw HatsThey set sail towards the extraordinary Great Routea legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. As they travel through this unpredictable kingdom in search of the world’s greatest treasure, they will encounter strange islands and a host of formidable new enemies.”

At his young age, the Californian actor Xolo Maridueña has participated in series such as Parenthood where he played Victor Graham; an episode of Twin Peaks as Chico in 1956 and perhaps his most memorable role to date as Miguel Díaz in Cobra Kai.
He also gave life to Jaime Reyes aka Blue Beetle in the film of the same name, which belongs to the DC Extended Universe (DCEU); Shawn and Manny in the movies made for television Furst Born y Dealin With Idiotsrespectively.
